Oconee Privacy Notice

This notice describes information collected through Oconee County Busted Mugshots, how that information is used, and the choices available to visitors. By using the service, a visitor accepts these practices as they may be updated.

Information Supplied Directly

A name, location, or similar term entered into a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. We do not store or keep a separate log of those search terms. If someone sends an email or contact message, we keep the information needed to reply and do not share it outside our organization unless the law requires disclosure.

Technical Information and Cookies

As with most web services, basic technical information can be recorded when a page loads. It can include an IP address, browser and version, device and operating system, pages viewed and time spent, referring site, and timestamps.

Cookies help measure use of the service. Browser settings can block or remove them, although some features may operate differently when cookies are unavailable.

How Information Is Used

Collected information supports ordinary operation and improvement of the service.

  • Operate and maintain the site.
  • Route a submitted query to the applicable search partner.
  • Understand which pages visitors use.
  • Find and correct technical problems.
  • Display advertising that may reflect interests.

Outside Links and Advertising

Links may lead to Oconee Sheriff resources, courts, corrections agencies, government portals, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, that provider’s privacy policy controls its own handling of information. Advertising partners may also measure activity across websites on their own systems for interest-based advertising.

When Data May Be Shared

We do not sell personal information. Information may be available to the service providers that perform the following functions, or to authorities responding to a valid legal order.

  • Search partners that process submitted queries.
  • Analytics providers.
  • Advertising networks.
  • Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal requirement.

Security and Young Users

Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet-connected system can promise complete security. This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal information may contact us to request deletion.

Your Choices and Policy Changes

A visitor may ask for a copy of data we hold, request correction of inaccurate information, ask for deletion, or opt out of certain processing where applicable. This notice may change as the service changes. The revised notice becomes effective when posted here.
